It explores freedom, freedom from judgment, from expectations, and from who we think we should be, and invites a return to what we truly want and who we really are. Each painting offers a quiet pause, a step into presence, and a reflection on the inner world.
Each piece begins with a hand-carved block print drawn from nature. In this collection, finches, sparrows, and hummingbirds appear alongside delicate leaves and flowers. These prints form the foundation, giving the work rhythm, structure, and a sense of continuity.
These foundations are layered with oil portraiture and textured impasto, using colour, gesture, and light to bring the figures to life and reveal the complexity of their inner worlds.
